Question by Don S: What’s the best thing to use to clean tile grout around the sink?
The tile grout around my sink is becoming discolored perhaps due to spilled coffee. In some spots, there are black mildew type stains. I tried bleaching, oxyclean and other off the shelf cleaners such as lime away or CRL but no luck. Short of regrouting are there effective grout cleaners in the market I can use?

Sanding would definitely work but you would want to reseal it afterward to make sure you don’t leave a “stain-sponge” that will just suck up new stains. Before sanding, you could try one of those bleach pens, with gel bleach in a cool little squeezy-pen. They work great; I use them on my bathtub all the time.
Using a sand paper or a dremel tool will only cause you to find out if its a topical stain or for some reason mildew coming from under neath from water getting under the sink..
Either way , since you ve used all the strong cleaners, find out if its topical or not and all solutions lead to digging out that area and regrouting. You must dig it out enough so the new grout will adhere..A slurry coat ( thin topical coat) won t adhere well at all..
